This three-day course will look at the theories that provide the framework for SAI. Emphasis will be on the impact of trauma on sensory processing, and on the capacity for self and co-regulation. Participants will learn the neurosequential approach to intervention; that is, when it is most effective to use interventions such as narrative work, play therapy, and education.
This three-day course will look at the different theories of dissociation and how dissociation impacts on daily life in children, adolescents and teenagers. The workshop will then focus specifically on Karen’s dissociation model which is applicable for a wide range of professionals to access. Participants will learn how to identify dissociation from background histories and body language as well as behaviours.
Theraplay® workshops are intensive, active and rewarding. The number of participants is limited so that each person can receive the special attention that makes for a good training experience. There are opportunities to:
- Observe the live treatment of a family, including the assessment via the Marschak Interaction Method, feedback to the parents, and several Theraplay sessions.
- Watch videotapes of treatment with a variety of clients
- Practice the use of Theraplay techniques
- Plan how each participant can use Theraplay with their clients at home
- Completion of Theraplay and MIM training is the first step in the Theraplay® therapist certification process.
This four-day course will train Professionals in the use of The Just Right State Children's Programme and Parents Programme.
This course consists of two parts, with this being part one, you must complete both Part One and Part Two to receive your certification, it is split into 2 parts due to the course being online, to help ease the fatigue with online learning.
