Sensory Attachment Integration (SAI)

Sensory Attachment Integration is a therapeutic approach designed to address the sensory processing needs of individuals who have experienced trauma or have attachment difficulties.

This method focuses on integrating sensory experiences to help regulate emotions and behaviours, fostering a more secure and balanced emotional state.

SAI combines principles from sensory integration therapy and attachment theory to create a tailored therapeutic experience. By engaging in sensory-based activities, children can process and manage their emotions more effectively, enhancing their ability to connect with others and navigate their daily lives.

Goals of Sensory Attachment Integration

Enhance Emotional Regulation: Help children manage and balance their emotional responses through sensory activities.
Improve Sensory Processing: Aid in the integration of sensory experiences to better respond to and interact with the environment.
Foster Secure Attachments: Support the development of healthy, trusting relationships by addressing sensory needs and attachment issues.
Promote Self-Awareness: Increase understanding of how sensory experiences impact emotional and behavioural responses.
Support Overall Well-Being: Enhance quality of life by integrating sensory input to improve emotional and behavioural regulation.
